For over a century the Black Country in England has been famous for its forging. At one stage it was responsible for over 80% of forged production around the world. The region is named the Black Country because there was so much industrial forging going on that the city looked black by day and red by night due to the glow from the Furness fires. It was this that inspired J.R.R. Tolkien's grim city of Mordor, indeed in the Elvish Sindarin language , Mor-Dor means Black Land from the Lord of the Rings novel.
To this day Black country Forging is still renowned around the world as the best as they still use traditional methods to create pure and dense forging's that are the envy of most nations. Our Custom Factory putters are forged by one of the most famous forge companies in the Black Country, Victoria Drop Forgings. Since 1904 they have made products from armoured car parts during the first world war to Rolls Royce, McLaren and aerospace parts still to this day. In our opinion there is no better forging company in the world, and we are very proud to say that our putters are forged here and that we know that the quality of this forge is what makes our putters have a pure and repeatable feel over any other putter on the market today.
Once the raw stainless steel heads arrive at our workshop they are inspected, hand ground, milled and drilled by our specialist craftmen.
The machined putter then undergoes a further unique and specialist procedure where the graphics are engraved which takes several hours. This stage is generally done to order to allow for the option for further customisation options such as a preferred alignment, name added, logo, brass inlay, signature etc.
The next stage is where the head is coated in our unique Superchared finishes with these available options:
.Twilight (mainly blue with hints of purple and turquoise)
.Magnum (Gun metal)
.Sandstorm (looks like copper but doesn't tarnish)
.Pharaoh (looks like Egyption gold)
.Emerald (Mainly green with hints of purple)
After the coating stage the putter is then hand painted by one of our artists and you can choose from our wide range of colours to really make the putter your own.
